Day 1: Cusco – Hydroelectric Station – Aguas Calientes
Hotel Pickup – 7:00 to 7:30 a.m.

We’ll start the day with pickup from your hotel in downtown Cusco to begin the 2-day, 1-night excursion to Machu Picchu via the Amazon Route. Along the way, we’ll cross the Sacred Valley of the Incas, enjoying views of various villages and landscapes that transition from cold highlands to tropical zones, eventually reaching the jungle region.
Arrival in Santa Teresa – 1:30 p.m.

We’ll arrive in Santa Teresa, where you can enjoy a delicious lunch. Afterward, we’ll continue the journey to the Hydroelectric Station with a 45-minute ride in a tourist vehicle. Upon arrival, we’ll begin a scenic 3-hour hike along the Amazonian trail to reach Aguas Calientes, also known as Machu Picchu Town. During this stretch, participants will have the option to take the local train instead of hiking.
Arrival in Aguas Calientes – 4:30 p.m.

Once in Aguas Calientes, our guide will take you to your assigned tourist accommodations. In the evening, we’ll enjoy dinner and receive a briefing from our professional guide with all the necessary information about the visit to the famous Machu Picchu the following day. This concludes the first part of the tour.

Day 2: Guided Tour of Machu Picchu – Return to Cusco
Start the Hike – 5:00 a.m.

We’ll wake up early to begin the hike of approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes to reach the majestic Inca Citadel of Machu Picchu. Once inside the Historic Sanctuary, we’ll enjoy a 2-hour guided tour during which you’ll learn about the history and secrets of this incredible site. After the tour, you’ll have free time to explore the archaeological site at your own pace.
End of the tour – 11:30 a.m.

At the end of the tour, we will take the bus back to the town of Aguas Calientes.
Arrival at the station – 2:30 to 3:00 p.m.

Arrival in Cusco and End of the Tour
