Palcoyo Rainbow Mountain Tour Itinerary

  • 04:00 a.m. – Hotel Pickup

    We’ll pick you up from your hotel if you’re staying in the historic center of Cusco. Otherwise, we’ll coordinate a nearby meeting point.

  • 06:00 a.m. – Breakfast in Cusipata

    Our first stop will be in the town of Cusipata to enjoy a local breakfast and energize for the day. The drive from Cusco to Cusipata takes about 2 hours.

  • 07:00 a.m. – Journey to Combapata

    After breakfast, we’ll continue the trip toward the town of Combapata. Along the way, we’ll take a scenic detour near the Salka River. This leg takes approximately 1 hour.

  • 08:00 a.m. – Arrival at the Trailhead

    We arrive at the starting point of the hike to Palcoyo Rainbow Mountain. You’ll have time to prepare and bring only the essentials for the walk.

  • 08:15 a.m. – Start of the Hike

    The hike begins! It takes around 40 minutes to reach the main viewpoint, with gentle terrain and amazing views all around.

  • 09:00 a.m. – Main Viewpoint of Palcoyo

    Take in the stunning panoramic view of the Montaña de Colores Palcoyo, surrounded by vibrant landscapes and the majestic Ausangate mountain in the distance. Plenty of time for photos and appreciation.

  • 09:30 a.m. – Return to the Vehicle

    After enjoying the scenery, we head back down to the starting point where our transport will be waiting.

  • 10:00 a.m. – Visit to Checacupe Bridges

    On our way back, we stop in the traditional town of Checacupe to visit its three historical bridges: Inca, Colonial, and Republican. A great cultural bonus to the day.

  • 12:00 p.m. – Lunch in Cusipata

    We stop again in Cusipata for a well-deserved lunch and a short rest.

  • 01:00 p.m. – Return to Cusco

    After lunch, we begin our return journey to Cusco.

  • 03:00 p.m. – Arrival in Cusco

    We arrive in Cusco and drop you off near the city center, marking the end of the Palcoyo Rainbow Mountain Tour.
